Do you want to learn how to work with studio lighting and create images that are professional, aesthetic and completely in your own style?
This course is for those of you who want to get started with studio photography – or those who have tried it a few times, but are still staggering in the dark (literally). You will get a complete handle on how studio light works, how to set it up, and how to guide the model/client to obtain the right expression.
We work practically all the way through. You get to try it yourself with your own camera – surrounded by calm, support and honest feedback. No stupid questions, no tech talk for tech nerds – just concrete knowledge and lots of hands-on practice.
You go home with:
- Understanding how light creates moods and depth
- Techniques for working safely and creatively in the studio
- Images you can actually use to attract clients and be proud of
- What is a "modifier" and what do you use them for?
- How to set light for portraits EASILY?
- How do you create "drama" with light?
- What is a reflector and when is it used?
- Is it expensive to buy study lights?
- How many lamps do I need to buy to get started?
- ….and much more.
There is room for both beginners and intermediates – and most importantly: You don't need to know everything beforehand. Not to know all in advance, creates even more space to improve your skills
Just show up with a camera, curiosity and the desire to improve. I will introduce you to the world of studio lighting and teach you everything you need to get started yourself.
This workshop is the perfect mix between theory and practice. I first teach theoretically, then I show what I mean by doing a “live shoot” so you can see my theory being used in practice. Afterwards, it is YOU who has to pick up the camera – because you need to have it in your hands to get the full understanding.
You will get one-on-one time with a model so you can also practice instructing the model in posing and expression, etc.
My teaching takes place in a very "non-technical" language ALL can join – even the brand new photographer!
This is primarily a workshop about studio lighting for portraits, beauty, etc., but I present the use of colored light and spots. If more in-depth knowledge is desired, you should instead take the workshop that deals specifically with this.
So grab the camera and let's get started!!
