Sometimes the right decision hides behind a wall of worries and "what if's".
My nice big studio in Søborg has been terminated - not without butterflies in my stomach! For what now???? Without knowing it, I sent in my resignation. It was shaking hands that pressed the "send" button, for several reasons.
First reason is that I really LOVE that studio and have made it my own with my decor and soul, so quitting the room is like having to sacrifice my right arm….
Another reason is that I am REALLY bad at acting in uncertainty. My photo studio has been terminated - now what???? It is my livelihood and I have to have a place to work from!
It was a whole process I had to go through on one of my last visits to Spain. I used the time to really feel my guts out, and came to the conclusion several times that I no longer belonged in the large (and very expensive) studio in Søborg. The decision was sadly taken by myself and I submitted my resignation. Now I had 6 months. to find a solution….
My solution was right in front of me!
A really good photographer colleague and I butted heads for other reasons and then the conversation turned to my studio situation.... (Jan Hammerstad is one of my really cool collaborators and I have previously rented his studio for workshops and photoshoots)
Jan said: Well then, let's investigate what is available for rent here in the building.... 3 seconds later: I HAVE SIGNED THE CONTRACT and am now moving into new premises under the same roof as Jan.
It took some time to find the right room that fits all my checklist points, but NOW the contract is signed and I'm moving in in December and welcome you all to January 2025
This is the best "marriage" I could think of, precisely because Jan and I work and think really alike. We have many other future projects together and it just makes SO much sense to move in together.
Jan will still have his own studio: Prime 1 – our little baby (and my new premises) will be an addition to this: Prime 2.
I'm SO looking forward to it - now I'm off to all the fun of setting up the new setting, and really making it delicious for you to come visit.
UUUUUUUH how I look forward to shooting a lot of beautiful photoshoots in my new studio.
See you soon
XOXO
